I ordered 2 lamps at the beginning of COVID (a green one posted elsewhere and the yellow one posted here ). It ended up taking a little over a month to arrive. Customer service reached out to me and warned me of extended shipping time and offered to cancel, which I appreciated. Timing wasn’t an issue but that extra time let me set high expectations for a product that fell short.I don’t think my complaints have to do with bad service or poor attention to detail. It just is what it is and people should consider the following before buying.Pros:1. I saw GREAT CARE in the way the product was packaged. Each piece wrapped and each box was within a larger box that was also wrapped so nothing jiggled. It’s clear there’s some personalized attention here.2. Colors are spot on and beautifully matte.3. The wood is nicely finished... not too fancy but it doesn’t feel cheap.4. The paint finish is nice and smooth with one exception (see cons).Cons:1. Although my product arrived unscratched there was a small drip (which turned out to be a bubble) in the paint on the yellow lamp I received. It was in the crease, pretty normal looking, except I touched it with the soft part of my finger and it flaked like a crunchy leaf in the fall, exposing bright silver. The green lamp also had an existing small scratch where the wood met the metal. Seeing that this was an unexposed joint, not really an issue. Just be careful. After the tiny yellow bubble flaked away, of course I ran my hands all over the fixture to see if anything else would flake off and, to be honest, it was solid. The soft of my nail couldn’t create any further scratches. I wouldn’t rub the thing against a hard surface but it’s not as terribly fragile as that one bubble was.2. It flickers. I have some white led grow lights I wanted to use this with (three types I was considering) and the first one buzzed and the second one flickered violently (the third I never turned on but seemed too heavy for the cord). The flickering doesn’t occur in other fixtures I have, I’ve owned these lights for several months now. I looked it up, and it has to do with the dimmer. No, the bulbs I was using weren’t dimmable but other dimmable lights I have can click on to full capacity, which stops the issue. Not the case for this dimmer. So don’t plan to use this fixture with anything non-dimmable, I guess.3. Cord was janky. No other way to put it. When I tried to screw my bulb in it would twist and bend and I barely felt like it was attached to the light. On the GreenLamp, the wood handle would fall crooked until I put a heavy bulb in it, which straightened out the cord a bit. Problem is, I don’t trust it with a heavy bulb (Note: heavy in this case was a 5 inch Phillips grow light That weighed a lb.... your bulb is probably fine... but maybe won’t straighten the cord!). The yellow lamp I has also a metal ring on the handle which has already chewed through a bit of the cord plastic... a scary design flaw that is not present in the green lamp, which had a plastic connector.In conclusion, not sure If i’m returning these. I’m really bummed out but after a month of waiting I feel kinda trapped! Beware of these pretty little lights.
