Good variable lighting controller and easy to install if you know what you're doing. If you dont, for the love of all things holy, just hire an electrician and dont fry yourself. It looks a bit dated, but I like the larger dimmer slider and the separate switch. Lutron is a very good brand, probably the most recognized US dimmer brand. They last a very long time. I bought this to replace a dimmer after installing recessed LED lights. They wouldn't dim at all on the old dimmer. I will probably buy another one the next time i need a dimmer, if not this same style, then at least this same brand. I wont lie and say installation was easy, but it is electrical and if you are replacing a switch it can be tough to get all the wires back in the box since it is bigger than a switch.Photo of item shows two dimmers, you only get one. Nothing in the product specifications or order tells you that your purchase is for one item. Very misleading and should be corrected.I have never had a problem with a Lutron product. Yeah, they are a bit more dear, but you will not have to return it or deep 6 it.I'm not a huge fan of messing with anything electrical, but this was so easy to install! Works great.I like has a on/off switch and a sliding dimmer. Was easy to install. Good directions. I definitely would purchase it again.Remove hanging fluorescents during remodel and use this to dim plot lights.A standard wall plate will not fit. You have to buy their two-part plate. It has one part that screws into the dimmer and a snap-on plate that covers the fixture. They are hard to separate from each other without damage to fingernails, or prying with a screwdriver leaving gouges. All so you can't use a standard wall plate. Exasperating.I have never installed a dimmer switch before, so when I opened the instructions and couldn't find my simple wiring, I was confused. I mean, do I really want to guess when it comes to electrical? My initial guess was correct, but still... I checked their website and they had a great instructional video. To make it easier I would have preferred a simple diagram but it's not a huge deal. Anyways, the switch works great and I'm really pleased. Just in case you are a newby like me, I have posted a pic of my wiring. Or simply put, green to ground, black to black, red to white and just cap off the remaining red & white wire that hangs from the switch.I would definitely buy again, even though it seems expensive to me. Happy to have it in grey.I replaced an old rotary dimmer with this Lutron dimmer. I find that this Lutron dimmer is kind of bulky for the electrical box with all the wire nuts, but the dimmer works great with LED light bulbs, even though I have a very old light fixture. It's a very well-designed dimmer, and I really like the little rocker switch. However, I wish it had screws instead of wires because wire nuts take too much space in the box.I used this switch to replace an older dimmer, as I was upgrading my basement lighting to LEDs and wanted to retain the ability to dim the lights. The quality is great, the install was as easy as any switch, and the versatility (light types & switch combinations) make this switch a winner. Finally able to control the light intensity of my bathroom lighting. Allows for very low lighting for the bio-breaks. Really helps falling back to sleep. Easy adjustment slider lets you set min light brightness.1st one arrived as the retail box was smashed up.. Did not work after installation and did the return and got a replacement with a 2nd new one... Easy installation and it works very well
