GLAD TO GET THIS PIECE, SAVED ME A TON.So easy to install; you will be glad you made the purchase!I wish I would have bought this sooner! Repair it yourself! The turn signal switch in my 07 Pontiac G6 has been busted for the better part of a year. You don't realize how badly you appreciate something until it's gone. Thus has been my experience having to manually un-turn my turn signal switch after every turn, often times forgetting to, causing confusion and dirty looks from people at intersections. Finally, got my new ACDelco turn signal switch in the mail today. I received it within a few days with Prime membership. EASY TO INSTALL!!. I highly recommend doing it yourself.Removal (Pontiac G6):-Locate steering column shroud. (Between the steering wheel and dash cluster gauge. The turn signal switch is attached to shroud)-Pull top half of shroud away from bottom half. Lift it out of the way as much as possible.-On the bottom half of the shroud, are (3) bolt head screws. They are located up inside the (3) visible holes. Remove them.-Pull bottom half of shroud away from steering column. (Gently stretch the shroud apart at the tilt lock lever groove, removing it from around tilt lock.)-Your turn signal switch should now be accessible and you should locate the (2) white wire harness connectors attached to the turn signal switch.-The larger wire connector has a black lock strap that must first (gently) be pried up before connector removal.-The smaller wire connector is a pinch latch mechanism. Pinch and pull it away from the turn signal switch.-The turn signal switch has (2) lock straps. (1) on top. (1) on bottom. Push the tabs down using a small screwdriver, freeing the tabs from the straps.-Pull the old turn signal switch out.INSTALLATION:-Push new turn signal switch into its slot. You will hear the tabs click into the lock straps.-Push large wire connector harness into turn signal switch. Again, you will hear a click when it's in.-Push small wire connector harness into turn signal switch. Listen for a click.-Remount the bottom half of shroud to the steering column. Remember to stretch the tilt lock groove around the tilt lock lever for reinstallation.-Screw the bottom half of shroud back onto the steering column. (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. YOU WILL SNAP A SCREW)-Snap top half of shroud into bottom half of shroud, adjusting as necessary around the turn signal and windshield wiper posts on either side.-Turn the headlight switch of turn signal switch forward and smile at all the money you just saved by doing it yourself.NOTE: There is a video on YouTube of a guy replacing his turn signal switch on a Pontiac G6 as well, if these instructions are difficult to understand or you would prefer visual instruction. Also, the turn signal switch might feel rough or stiff in signal selecting, but it should smooth out during your first drive. This review covers the AC Delco D6253E GM OEM Turn Signal & Headlamp Dimmer Switch. Bought from AC-Direct on Amazon Marketplace (I don't see their listing anymore?). Total was $26.40 including shipping. I replaced existing turn signal switch on 2007 Pontiac G6. Problem was that the turn signal would not cancel itself. Replacement took about 10 minutes. Tools needed are a blade screwdriver & a 7mm or 9/32 socket or nutdriver. I recommend going to the youtube video titled "G6 turn signal replacement". It is less than 2 minutes long & explains it well.Probably the most difficult part of the removal, if you want to call it that, (for me anyway) was disconnecting the 2 multi wire connector blocks. The smaller one has to be pinched for removal & the larger one has a black metal tab like thing that has to be slightly lifted for the connector to release. The switch itself is locked into its receptacle with 2 tabs (one at the top & one at the bottom) take the blade screwdriver & gently push the top tab down & pull on the switch so as to release it from that tab, holding it steady, now go to the bottom tab and push it up and now you can pull the switch out.My removal sequence was removing 3- 7mm screws located on the underside of the steering wheel column that's part of the collar for the turn signal switch (you will only see 3 holes so its a no brainer there).Next separate the collar, which you just removed the screws from,(which houses the turn signal switch) it's like a clam shell (top & bottom). Just fold the top part back & jockey the bottom part until it clears your turn signal switch.Next I released the switch from its receptacle as explained above.Next I disconnected the 2 wire connector blocks as explained above. Now add your new switch in the reverse order of the removal. One thing you don't want to do while in the middle of this procedure is try to turn the steering wheel. Just have the wheel pointed straight ahead before you start and leave it that way until you are ready to check the operation at completion. If you have a tough time remembering what goes where snap some pics with your smartphone as you move along. It extends your memory (so to speak). This is easy--back in the 1980's I owned a Subaru XT with a similar turn signal problem. The dealer quoted me around $700 parts & labor (back then)to replace the ASSEMBLY. Consider this a piece of cakeit worked, fixed my problemI read the reviews and was cautious about ordering and installing, but am so GRATEFUL I did! Part came on time and just as other reviews mentioned it only takes a 7 mm socket to remove (3) screws--- then pull apart the clipped pieces.. and put the new one in by sliding and clicking into place, and screwing back in. Literally took 5 minutes. The mechanics wanted anywhere from 150 -250 to do it for me. I'm so grateful. ALSO! This stopped my other issue with my old turn indicator. It would continue to flash after I would make a turn.. whereas this one stopped that problem.Shipped directly from a GM dealer. Easy quick install and vehicle was back up and going. The old unit was malfunctioning. The new unit fixed it. I followed a uTube video to do the job. Piece of cake.Part was seeming OEM quality with no difference in look or feel. Install was about 5 min for a non "car guy". A set of car plug/clip release tools makes is even easier, but you can do fine with like a thin plastic spatula or probably even a plastic knife.Simply unscrew the 3 bolts under the steering wheel, release the two sets of clips holding around the signal arm and wiper blade control on both sides. After that, leave the bottom section in place and wiggle it down a bit. Then remove the upper part.Release the two connectors to the existing module (one needs a push in, and other needs a tab pulled out). Then the module and whatever left of your signal control will slide out when you push in the tabs on the top and bottom. Use a flat head screwdriver and two hands to do this easy. After that, slide the new module in place, carefully attach the two connectors, slide in the module box til it snaps in. Then insert the top half of the steering wheel back in. There are two circle/cylinder tabs at the back that latch with the bottom part to have them mate together properly. The only part I struggled was getting the bottom and top parts on the outside of the little cone shaped parts that surround the signal and wiper blade arms. The cover goes OVER the arm cones.Once the clips are oriented they snapped in pretty easily (don't force them or you might wreck a clip). Then simply bolt the three screws in the bottom base again and you are done! Ezpz $30 and 5 minute fix.
